T-Shirt Karlie Design

made by monkeys
Have you heard about the designing monkeys? This is the story behind!
Animals that do not live in nature need to be provided with environmental enrichment. This stimulates the animals physically, intellectually and emotionally. In so called „painting parties“ great apes enjoys painting as a part of the enrichment.

This is where the designs for the sustainable and fairly produced Shirts originate.

ajoofa contributes 2% from each shirt to the animal enrichment in zoological institutions. Another 5% is contributed to nature conservation projects. Fashion from and for man, creature und nature.
why, how come, what for?

Monkey with colors Environmental enrichment for great apes. Not all animals do live in the wilderness. Therefore people offer enrichment programs for the animals held in captivity. Few of the animals do delight us with their artwork.
Monkey hand with brush The design of the ajoofa shirts are based on artworks genuinely made by animal hand with colors on paper or canvas.

Animal Sanctuary Tchimpounga
Jane Goodall Institute

The Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center „Tchimpounga“ was founded in the Republic of the Congo in 1992 by the Jane Goodall Institute. 148 orphans have found their home in this resort. But the purpose of this sanctuary is not only to take care of the chimpanzees. Also the spread of information, sustainable development and health programs for the local people is part of the daily work of its employees. It is the philosophy of all Jane Goodall projects to combine people, animals and nature.
Meratus may not die
Fascination Rainforest Association

250 indigenous people - the Dayaks - share their habitat in the Meratus forest with the Orang-Utans. The clear cutting of rain forest has served as income for the local people. The project is engaged to increase the standard of living by providing new and sustainable sources of income.

The use for the local people is obvious: the more reforestation is done, the more „Dayaks“ can support their families with jobs that are created around the conservation projects.
BeeGood – Mellifera
Initiative for the bee, the people and the nature

Today people are not all aware of the interaction of the single elements in the nature. So not many people know about the situation that in a few districts in China there are no bees existing anymore and therefore people do the job of the pollination of plants. To avoid such situations and to keep our nature colorful and diverse, we support Bee-Good, which supports intrinsic beekeeping and management.
